Eliseo ‘Cheo’ Escobar

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 9 for Eliseo ‘Cheo’ Escobar, 57, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Mr. Escobar was born July 12, 1956 in Elsa, Texas, and resided in Patterson most of his life. He loved watching movies, reading, listening to tejano and oldies music, and spending time with family and his dog Shorty. Mr. Escobar was a wonderful caregiver for his parents. He was known for his tough love on his nieces and nephews who all meant a lot to him.

Mr. Escobar is survived by his parents, Jesus and Justina Escobar; sisters, Noelia Hurtado and Gloria Hernandez, both of Modesto, Sylvia Silva, Alicia Escobar and Minerva Escobar, all of Patterson; 19 nieces and nephews; 24 great nieces and nephews and his dog Shorty. His brother, Eleazar Escobar, preceded Mr. Escobar in death.

A visitation will be observed from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 followed by a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St., in Patterson. Burial will follow at a future date at Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33, Patterson.
