Golf cart reported stolen

Police responded to a report at 9:37 a.m. Jan. 12 that a $4,000 golf cart had been stolen from a business on the 4000 block of Stuhr Road. Someone cut a hole in a chain link fence and made off with the cart.

Jan. 12

1:20 p.m.:
Police booked a 35-year-old Patterson woman into the Public Safety Center in Modesto on suspicion of stealing a wallet at Save Mart Supermarkets, 1035 Sperry Ave. A woman who had been standing in front of the 35-year-old in the check-out line accidentally left her wallet on the counter. The 35-year-old then pocketed the wallet without anyone noticing. When the woman realized her wallet was gone, store employees reviewed video that showed the 35-year-old stealing the wallet. Detectives recognized the 35-year-old and arrested her.

1:25 p.m.: Someone reported that someone threw dirt clods through several windows in a vacant building on the 800 block of E Street.

3:06 p.m.: A Patterson woman reported someone had been stealing newspaper vending machines since Dec. 26. In all, the woman reported five machines were stolen. Police received reports that one of the machines was found on the 200 block of D Street.

4:40 p.m.: A Patterson woman reported her medications had not arrived in the mail. She was worried they might have been sent to the wrong address and someone else received them.

Jan. 13

2 p.m.:
Police cited a 44-year-old Patterson man for failing to register as a sex offender after police received a report he had been asking children to accompany him to an orchard to pick fruit. When police investigated the matter they discovered he had been convicted
