EDITOR,
Despite my obvious disdain for mammoth stores like K-Mart, Rite-Aid, Walgreens, etc., I do not boycott any one of them. I keep my shopping at these stores to a bare minimum. Alas, my only alternative and best choice is New Leaf. It makes perfect sense, except that visiting the store is not entirely feasible (for economic reasons). It seems that the more locally grown something is, the higher its cost. Hmmm.
Nevertheless, to finish this interesting discussion without gaining “Grinch Syndrome,” I have to admit to my recent trip to Wal-Mart. Yes, I drove over the hill to Wal-Mart, because they announced a fantastic drug coverage program, listing more than 250 prescription drugs at a cost of $4 each. That amounts to almost $350 per month (for the next six months) in savings for me. Kudos to Wal-Mart for creating this program, no matter what the reason or objective. Hopefully, this information will be helpful to many like me without health insurance or drug coverage to get their medication without needing a second mortgage to finance it.
