Police stopped close to 700 cars Friday and Saturday night at a DUI-driver’s license checkpoint on East Las Palmas Avenue. Police arrested two people on suspicion of drunken driving, cited 33 people for not having a valid license and arrested one person for a warrant.
Sunday
3 a.m.: Police booked two Patterson men, ages 37 and 25, into Stanislaus County Jail in Modesto on suspicion of being drunk in public after finding them in South Park on Las Palmas Avenue. The jail released them when they sobered up.
Saturday
8:54 p.m.: Police booked a 39-year-old Patterson man into county jail on suspicion of being drunk in public. Police found him after responding to reports of an argument at Sixth and F streets. A deputy found the man wandering the streets. After he sobered up, the jail released him without citing him.
6 a.m.: A Patterson woman reported someone tried to enter her home, but her boyfriend chased him off. Early in the morning, the woman heard her doorbell ring, but did not answer it. Soon, she noticed a man trying to open her sliding glass door. The woman’s boyfriend tried to confront the man, but he ran away.
Friday
7:30 a.m.: Police responded to a report that someone broke into a home on the 1200 block of Gannet Lane and stole $3,450 worth of electronics. The thief entered through an unlocked door.
