The honorees received gift certificates and plaques during the January and February school board meetings.
Adrianna Sanchez
Sanchez, a Grayson Charter School teacher, was nominated by the district’s preschool coordinator, Teresa Reyna.
Reyna wrote that Sanchez uses innovative instruction methods and has an ability to engage preschool children in active learning, helping them reach their potential.
According to Reyna, Sanchez has gained the respect of the families she works with at Grayson.
Augie De La Rosa
De La Rosa, the lead custodian at Northmead School, was described as “the glue that holds the school together” by Joseph Silveira, the school’s principal.
According to Silveira, visitors to the school have remarked on the school’s condition despite its age, and De La Rosa and the custodial staff deserve the credit. This year, with modernization projects in full swing, he has accepted additional tasks with a positive attitude and commitment to the school, Silveira said.
David Gibson
Gibson, one of the February honorees, teaches special day classes at Creekside Middle School. He was described as an incredible and effective teacher by former Principal Shawn Posey.
According to Posey’s nomination, Gibson puts extra effort into building positive relationships with his students and is consistently present at extracurricular events, such as the district’s back-to-school Block Party in downtown Patterson.
Denise Rodriguez
Rodriguez, a speech and language assistant who translates and interprets in local schools, was nominated by Dave Hodge, the director of special education.
Rodriguez is professional in her demeanor and is willing to learn new strategies and techniques for delivering instruction, according to Hodge, who said he wished he had 10 employees like her.
