The couple’s children, Kristin Reader and Mike Larsen of Turlock, Michelle and Tom Jones of Lincoln and Rick and Maureen Day of Turlock, hosted the family gathering.
The Days were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fullerton on Dec. 15, 1962. They moved to Patterson in 1976, when Dick Day became principal of Patterson High School. Betty Day was the language arts teacher at Patterson Junior High School. Both retired from the school district in 1993.
Special guests at the 50th wedding anniversary celebration were the couple’s grandchildren, Melissa and Allison Reader; Shelby, Courtney and Colton Jones; and Alexis and Abby Day; as well as Betty’s sister, Fran Alcorn, with her husband, John, and their family, all of Brentwood. Friends Jeri and MaryAnn Fisher and family, of Tracy, also joined in the festivities.
