Political organization endorses candidates

EDITOR,

As president of the Latino Community Roundtable, I write this letter of support for the candidates who are recommended to serve our community.

With so many television ads and radio ads on the different campaigns, it is going to be so silent after the November elections.

One television ad caught my attention recently. The Fresno Bee accused Jeff Denham of “being not so honest.” The Fresno Bee is McClatchy.

The Modesto Bee endorsed Jeff Denham. The Modesto Bee is also McClatchy. So I am wondering if the Modesto Bee wants the voters in Stanislaus County to vote for a person who is “being not so honest?”

Latino Community Roundtable is a nonpartisan political organization, and our endorsements vary. For the June Primary, it was a unanimous vote of support for Jim DeMartini, Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors. If you will recall, his opponent was Latino.

For the November elections, Latino Community Roundtable recommends you vote for the following:

• Patterson City Mayor, Luis Molina

• Patterson City Council, Sheree Lustgarden and Tony Camacho

• California State Assembly, Adam Gray

• California 10th Congressional District, Jose Hernandez

Maggie Mejia, president, Latino Community Roundtable, Modesto
