Members of the sheriff’s department’s media relations unit will follow two deputies Saturday night and tweet updates, photographs and videos throughout the shift.
The purpose of the ride-along is to give people a better understanding of what a deputy sheriff does during a shift, according to Sheriff Adam Christianson.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department’s Twitter profile has more than 2,600 followers, and the department’s Facebook page has more than 600 “likes.”
Those with Twitter accounts can become followers at twitter.com/stansheriff, and Facebook users can “like” the department at facebook.com/stansheriff.
