I read with sadness and pride your obituaries for Lodi Harrison and Daniel Perez (Pages 14 and 13, Oct. 4). Back in the ’60s, I counted Bill Harrison and John Perez as two of my very best friends, as well as two of our high school’s best representatives to AFS, the study-abroad program at that time. Bill and John were clearly products of two of Patterson’s finest families. It was through them that I got to know their dads, Lodi Harrison and Daniel Perez, and their incredible families.
While the passing of these two warm and inviting men is a great sadness indeed, it is also a time to smile and remember their enormous contributions to Patterson and the young (now much older) kids whose lives were modeled by their actions and words.
