Scholarships for Women -
Do you want a higher paying career, better benefits, and more opportunity for advancement?
Almost every women does... I know I did. The trick is trying to figure out a way to balance work, family,
and education. Let's face it, earning a degree isn't cheap... especially if you're a single mom.
We would all like to think that there are scholarships for women available to us that are easy to find to
help us get our degrees. It would be even better for some of us, such was my case, if there was an easy
way to find scholarships for mothers or scholarships for single mothers that we could qualify for.
Something you should know - Women earning their degrees are no different than you or me.
I used to think degrees were meant for people who had incredibly high GPAs in school, or had enough money
to pay for college while supporting themselves and their families. Sometimes, I would see women, like

I would wonder how the heck could they afford to buy a new laptop! I knew some of these women... I knew
some of them were single parents... I knew where some of them worked... and I was certain they were just
as financially broke as I was! Want to know how they did it... how I did it?
Obviously, they knew something I didn't... some opportunity I was missing out on. And, at this point, I
definitely knew I wanted something better for my kids and for myself... so I asked one of them, "How can
you afford to go to school and pay for daycare and rent?"
The answer she gave me left me speechless...
She said she went to the library and used one of the computers to apply for a scholarship online. Then she
received a phone call informing her she got approved for a $10,000 scholarship. At first she couldn't
believe the news, but when she received the information packet in the mail a few days later, she knew
things were going to be okay... her life was finally moving in a positive direction.
Unlike student loans, scholarships are free money, so they don't have to be paid back. She also said that
she didn't need daycare because she was able to attend school online with her scholarship. When she
applied for the scholarship, she also got a list of schools that had both online and campus classes she
could attend. After hearing this... I knew I needed to do the same, so I went for it.
This part is very important:
I got my degree because I took action... now I have a much better quality of life. You can too if you take
action. If you do nothing, you will get nothing... it's that simple.
Do you still want a higher paying career... something better for yourself and your kids? You are going to
have to take action.
You have to decide what type of degree you want, and you have to apply for a scholarship and a school.
Finding scholarships for mothers and scholarships for single mothers can be very difficult.
