Pro Am Tournament at Pebble Beach
Golf enthusiasts are encouraged to join Modesto Junior College’s Community Education Day trip Feb. 9 to the AT&T National Pro Am Tournament at Pebble Beach.
Celebrities, golf legends and oceanside scenery make this golf tournament one of the world’s most-watched golf events.
Hundreds of nonprofit organizations have received more than $54 million throughout the years that has been raised for charity from this event. This PGA championship pairs professionals with amateurs to compete for $5.4 million in prize money. Foursomes will play at Poppy Hills, Spyglass Hill and Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The $95 fee includes an entrance fee and transportation. A special pick-up and drop-off for Patterson residents is available at the Save Mart shopping center at Ward and Sperry avenues. Folks are asked to mention this when calling.

Patterson Lakers to host tryouts
Tryouts for the Patterson Lakers youth basketball team will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Creekside Middle School gymnasium.
Ages and times are as follows:
n 12-and-under and
13-and-under boys: 10 a.m. to noon
n 13-and-under girls: noon to 1 p.m.
n 14-and-under boys:
1 to 2 p.m.
A parent must accompany a child to sign up.
