Patterson Lions donate money to various causes

Patterson Lions Club raises money throughout the year through fundraisers, such as the Apricot Fiesta Chicken Barbecue and the Sacred Heart and Lions Club Fish Fry. Money raised from these activities goes to community and Lions Club International projects. The Lions Club donations since Dec. 1 are as follows:

  • California Lions Camp, Camp Pacifica, $4,200 — to renovate a cabin at Camp Pacifica, including new siding, flooring, paint and restrooms, and $100 for daily operations of the camp for blind and hearing-impaired children.
  • Patterson Little League, $600 — for founding a sponsorship for the new Patterson Little League.
  • Project FIITNESS for Patterson High School freshmen, $300 — for the 24-week program that promotes a healthy lifestyle for participants.
  • Stanislaus County Area Agency on Aging,  $300 — for programs for seniors on the West Side.
  • Eye examination instruments, $250 — to allow volunteer optometrists to serve those in need and travel to counties such as Mexico, Bosnia, the Dominican Republic and Sri Lanka.
  • Lions Youth Exchange Foundation, $100  — to help young people attend foreign exchange programs.
