Orestimba 50-Plus sets meeting date Orestimba 50-Plus Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at L.J. Newman Hall, 649 Orestimba Road, in Newman. Connie Andersen, Betty Hernandez, Dan Renteria and Kitty Ledford will provide refreshments. Club president Kent Madenwald conducted the first meeting of the new year on Jan. 4. He thanked club members, previous officers and committee members for their support in 2007. Sunshine chairwoman Lorraine Bettencourt sent a sympathy card to Donna Krogh. Kitty Ledford won the 50-50 prize. Annual dues of $8 per person can be mailed to Orestimba 50-Plus Club, P.O. Box 464, Newman 95360. Members can also pay their dues at Friday’s meeting and receive a free calendar. For information: 862-4178.
