The Patterson boys basketball team traveled to Modesto Saturday to face Central Catholic in a battle for midseason supremacy. The Tigers edged out a 59-53 win over the Raiders, improving their league record to 2-0 and their overall record to 11-3. The win temporarily moves the Tigers percentage points ahead of Central Catholic in the jostle for first in the Western Athletic Conference. Felix Mapanda finished with 18 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Tigers. Teammate Mitch Becerra added 14 points and pulled down three rebounds.
