Newman 50-Plus to host special lunch
Orestimba 50-Plus will not meet Jan. 18. Members are invited instead to attend a lunch with Newman’s interim police Chief Randy Ulibarri from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Westside Theatre, 1331 Main St., in Newman.

The next regular meeting of the club will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at L.J. Newman Hall, 649 Orestimba Road, in Newman.
Annual dues can be paid at the next meeting for $8 per person or can be mailed to Orestimba 50-Plus Club, P.O. Box 464, Newman 95360.

Perry will be Garden Club guest
Patterson Garden Club will meet at 9 a.m. Jan. 24 at the Las Palmas Mobile Home Estates Clubhouse, 250 E. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson.
Ed Perry from the Stanislaus County Agricultural Extension Office will speak on “Gardening in the New Year.” His topic will be of interest to new homeowners as well as longtime gardeners. Perry will also answer gardening questions.
Patterson Garden Club Cookbooks will be available at the meeting for $10 each.
