The event was an opportunity to give all 70 wrestlers, many first-timers, the chance to get their feet wet and experience the excitement of a wrestling meet. Their next meet is scheduled for Jan. 4 at Orestimba High School, in Newman. A total of seven girls are wresting this year, and coach Lee Scoles plans on taking them to an all-girls tournament at the end of the year to give them more exposure.
