Sorority plans fall meeting Eight members of Preceptor Xi Phi Sorority met Oct. 2 at the home of Lois and Carolyn English. A sympathy card and a yellow rose were sent to member Roberta Petty, following the death of her husband. Betty Carlson reported she gave a patient a ride to a doctor’s appointment last month. Carlson also delivered the sorority’s monthly donation to the Westside Food Pantry. English reprinted and distributed the new roster information to members. Vice President Vicki La Torre discussed the Nov. 6 election. Club members will work that day at the FDES Hall polling place. English gave a cultural program presentation about the music of the waltz and its origins. She also played a tape of music by Johann Strauss. Lois English won the traveling basket.
