Learning About Hawaiian Culture and Bibliophiles, Get Ready...

Two-year-old Avery Nobles and her mother, Lanel, blow bubbles to the tune of “Tiny Bubbles” on the ukulele during Patterson Library’s Hawaiian Night on Thursday. The celebration of Hawaiian culture featured island songs, leis and a display of featured children’s books about the archipelago. Look inside for more photos from the event.

Several folks and children showed up for Hawaii Night on Thursday afternoon at the Patterson Library to celebrate Hawaiian culture.

HIGH-VOLUME SALE: Trudy DeGroot of Friends of the Patterson Library stacks boxes of sorted books into storage in preparation for the library’s upcoming fall booksale. The event begins Wednesday and runs through Oct. 22.
