Everett and Ida Souza of Crows Landing celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year with a family dinner at the St. George Hotel in Newman. ![]() Everett and Ida Souza Everett B. Souza Sr. and the former Ida Sylvia George met at an FDES dance in Crows Landing. The couple was married May 25, 1947, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crows Landing, where they are still parishioners. Everett is a lifelong farmer and veteran of World War II. Ida is a homemaker and former teacher’s aide at Bonita Elementary School in Crows Landing and Von Renner Elementary School in Newman. Everett is also a life member of VFW Post 5059 of Turlock. The couple are both members of several Portuguese organizations. The Souzas have a daughter, Marie Santos of Modesto; two sons, Everett Souza Jr. and Andrew Souza of Crows Landing; seven grandchildren, Andrea Brambila, Jason Santos, Antonia Souza, Raymond Souza, A.J.
