Extra effort: For the second year in a row, Patterson Community Stadium played host to the Trans-Valley Youth Football League’s All-Star games. The Nov. 15 games featured more than 250 players from the league’s 17 teams at the novice, junior varsity and varsity levels. Nearly 4,000 fans packed the stadium to cheer on the young athletes throughout the day. Patterson Redskins varsity coach Willie Boschi helped lead the South team over the North, 22-0. “This was my first time coaching in the game,” Boschi said. “It was an honor to work alongside the different coaches, as well as the many players.” At left, Redskins All-Star quarterback Jonathon Perez (No. 15) watches his NFC teammate, the Modesto Rams’ David Ferrel, get dragged down after a handoff.Elias Funez/Patterson Irrigator
