A Patterson man died Monday evening in a single-car accident on Highway 132, east of Waterford. The 42-year-old man was driving eastbound at 7:35 p.m. on a two-lane section of Highway 132 just east of Crabtree Road, near the Modesto Reservoir and Turlock Lake, when his 1995 Ford drifted off the right side of the road and down a steep embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokeswoman for the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office said early Tuesday afternoon that the man’s identification could not yet be released because the family had not yet been notified. It is unknown what caused the man to drift off the road.
