Police arrested a man following a Crows Landing drive-by shooting Thursday night and responded to reports of a dead body with a gunshot wound in Del Puerto Canyon on Friday morning. According to Patterson Police Services, the drive-by occurred at about 8 p.m. Thursday night and resulted in a car chase that ended in Patterson. Emergency responders headed into Del Puerto Canyon on Friday morning after receiving reports of a body. A sheriff’s department spokesman said Friday afternoon the death had been ruled a suicide and that investigators do not believe the incidents are related in any way. Because the incidents occurred in the county, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is heading both investigations.
