It was a miserable afternoon for Saints quarterback Drew Brees. While Atlanta rookie Matt Ryan turned in another solid performance, Brees threw a season-high three interceptions — the last returned 95 yards for a touchdown — and the Falcons defeated New Orleans 34-20 on Sunday. This game probably fell off the radar in most households, but Atlanta’s pesky defense ended up costing Patterson’s Dick Day a chance at winning $900. Still, Day finished with an outstanding 19-1 record in Week 9 of the Irrigator’s football contest. His selections brought him closer than any competitor this season, to sniffing the 20-0 record required to claim the contest’s grand prize. Instead, Day walks away with the weekly prize of $20 and a chance to do it all again next week, when the jackpot reaches a cool $1,000.
