Sacred Heart Catholic School awarded certificates of recognition for September to students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Awards of excellence were given for students who excelled in organizational skills, study habits and time management. Special recognition and Christian citizenship certificates were also awarded. Awards of excellence were given to kindergarteners Hailey Espos, Jack Grisel and Logan McCleery; first-graders Emily Lohman, Jacob Montoya and Riley Szenasi; second-graders Michaela Friedrich, Daren-Moses Heramia, Kristi Johnson and Ryan Phelps; third-graders Hannah Albrigo, Trevor Pedron and Thies Thoming; fourth-graders Matthew Brooks, Michael Days, Danielle Friedrich, Kimmie Hill, Maggie Thorpe and Angelo Traina; fifth-graders Nathan Banaag, Danielle Jenkins, Caitlyn Duval, Victoria Garcia and Giana Naegeli; seventh-graders Mariah Garcia and Mariele Schut; and eighth-graders Ethan Albrigo, Abbie Grisel and Kelsea Lopes. Special recognition Special cognition certificates were awarded to kindergartners Liam Ryals and Trista Thoming for being helpful in class; first-graders Shelby Graham and Devin Pedron for always having a good attitude; and Joey Raimondo for a wonderful adjustment to a new school; second-graders, Isaac Flores for giving his all in everything he does and Jessica Martin for always bringing a sunshine to the day with a smile; third-graders, Lehua DelLeon, Anwar Mustafa and Cole Romero for wonderful class participation, and Michael McCord, Michelle Nunez and Justin Selander for excellent effort; fourth-graders Ronnie Smith for being kind to a student in need of help, and Erin Martinez, John Williams and Selena Zamudio for making a smooth transition to Sacred Heart from another school; fifth-graders Cameron Davis for trying hard at everything he does, Bryan Sosa for improvement in skills overall, Josh Altamirano and America Nunez for outstanding adjustment to a new school, Connie Hill for always being ready for class, and Jonathan Weatherred for always being ready to help others; seventh-graders Rebecca Breasher for showing support to a classmate and Brissa Nunez for a smooth transition into a new school; and eighth-graders Sommerly Gasca and Dior-Ashton Teodosio for making a rapid adjustment to a new school. Christian citizenship Christian citizenship certificates were awarded to kindergarteners William Brooks, Claire Freidrich and Damian Garcia; first-graders Russell Ambrosiewicz and Michelle McKee; second-graders Francisco Arrizon, Gina Brooks and Eliahs Magana; third-graders Ben Maring and Tatianna Tafoya; third-graders Nicole Chin and Aaron Frunz; fifth-graders Ernesto Muniz and Sabrina Nelson; sixth-graders Nicole Henriques and Mitchell-Dean Heramia; seventh-graders Cole Selander and Sierra Ulibarri; and eighth-graders Miles Jacks and Kaylee Schali. Baning earns degree Former Patterson resident Nikki Baning graduated from Modesto Junior College in April with an associate’s degree in medical assisting. Baning is now a certified medical assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants.
