CSU Stanislaus lands in Princeton Review California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock is one of the nation’s best institutions for higher education, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features Stanislaus State in the recently released 2009 edition of its annual book, “The Best 368 Colleges,” published by Random House. Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and two Canadian colleges are in the book. Also, CSUS is one of only two California state universities in this year’s edition. Schools are chosen for the book based on outstanding academics and are evaluated based on school data, feedback from students and opinions of counselors and parents. The rankings are based on The Princeton Review’s survey of 120,000 students — about 325 students per campus on average — who attend the 368 colleges in the book. The Princeton Review is known for its test preparation, education and college admission services. It is not affiliated with Princeton University, and it is not a magazine.
