YOUR VOICE

Let’s be water conscious

EDITOR,
On my morning walk every day, I pass by several city parks in Patterson. Believe it or not, the sprinklers are on, and not just for a few minutes. Water is running down the street like there is no tomorrow.

It runs into the storm drains. It runs onto the street where nothing is going to grow.

Perhaps the city should look into this matter and make sure that water is not wasted. After all, this is a drought season, according to our governor.

I recently received a notice from the city stating that I should water every other day.

As I was coming home around 11:30 p.m. one night recently, the sprinklers along Sperry Avenue were on and the water was running down the street like the flood gates had been opened.

Let’s all be water conscious, including our city managers.
