| Six people cited in barn and house fire |

The county sheriff’s department released the names of six men cited for starting a fire at a barn and home at 1519 Loquat Ave. last week. The fire, started by a spark caused by an oxy-acetylene torch, caused an estimated $250,000 in damage, fire investigator Doug Machado said. Tracy residents Salvador Cerna, 22, and Jamie Cerna, who turned 19 on Sunday, were both cited, as were Ivan Cano-Villa, 22, and Olivero Ramirez, 29, both of San Leandro, Oakland resident Juan Miguel, 24, and Westley resident Luis Figueroa, whose age was unknown. All of them were seeking scrap metal at the time of the incident. Neither the homeowner nor the house’s residents were home at the time of the blaze, and investigators said the recyclers were not supposed to be on the property. The barn contained a truck, car and tractor, which were all destroyed by flames. The fire also decimated the 1,300-square-foot house in front of the barn and destroyed a diesel trailer, a 45-foot cargo van trailer, a late 1960s Chevrolet Impala, an early 1950s Chevrolet pickup, a 25-foot travel trailer, a garage with living quarters and a pump house and water tank.
