City continues pitch for softball league

The Patterson Parks and Recreation Department is working to organize a fall league of co-ed softball for adults. If enough people sign up, the league will begin in late August or early September. The dates and times of games will depend on the number of teams that join, and practice schedules will vary from team to team. Each team roster will consist of 12 to 15 players with equal numbers of men and women, and general Amateur Softball Association rules will apply. The recreation department asks for team commitments by July 31. Registration fees are $350 per team. No late registration fees will be accepted, and all fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. Individual players are encouraged to register, as well. Those interested in forming a team or signing up as individuals can call Robin Matteri, 531-3003. Other questions can be directed to the city’s recreation department, 895-8083.
