That’s so Sam

Sam Gange
Samantha Gange, a senior at Patterson High School, is known for her goofy, optimistic outlook on life. She knows how to make people laugh and is an intelligent individual. She even gives back to the community by volunteering in organizations such Kids Helping Kids. Her good-natured attitude and generosity make her a deserving candidate for this teen spotlight profile.

Insti-gator: What kind of stuff do you do when you’re not busy in school?
Samantha Gange: I like hanging out with my best friend, Jessica, and all my other friends, too. I also like being outdoors and going camping. That’s why I signed up for sixth-grade camp.

IG: Out of all your classes, which do you prefer the most?
Gange: Spanish class is my favorite, because it’s fun, and I feel that it’s one of the most useful classes. I can apply it to many different careers. My art class is pretty fun, too.

IG: Who do you admire and why?
Gange: I admire all of the men and women who have fought in the war for our country, because they have a lot of courage and pride. I just want to say thank you to all the men and women in uniform.

IG: What is your favorite film and also genre?
Gange: My favorite movie is “Sleeping Beauty”; it’s just a really good movie. It’s, like, my all-time favorite, and I could never get tired of watching it. I could totally do without horror movies, though. They give me the creeps.

IG: What do you think is your biggest accomplishment?
Gange: It definitely would be when I chugged a slushy in 12 seconds. (Laughs.) Nobody thought I could do it.

IG: Why do you think you were chosen for this spotlight?
Gange: Probably because I’m a good person and pretty smart, too. I mean, my grades are pretty decent, considering I’m a senior with senioritis. Plus, I’m kind of interesting — well, that’s what my best friend, Jessica, says.

IG: What are your hopes and aspirations?
Gange: I aspire to go to college and have a great career, but I’m not sure what career that is yet.

IG: What kind of music do you listen to or like?
Gange: I like pretty much all types of music. I usually listen to everything and anything on the radio. All music is really good, because each different artist has something different to say
