Sacred Heart Catholic School awarded certificates to students for the month of April. Certificates were given for awards of excellence in taking responsibility for words and actions, special recognition and Christian citizenship. Students who were awarded certificates for awards of excellence in responsibility are kindergartners Nico Cuevas, Devin Pedron and Riley Szenaski; first-graders Francisco Arrizon and Joseph McGarry; second-graders Brandon Jimenez, Tatianna Tafoya and Thies Thoming; third-graders John Guevarra, Adam Heath, Jacob Hill and Justin Lockhart; fourth-graders Tyler Macias, Nick Molieri and Ernesto Muniz; fifth-graders Nicole Henriques, Mitchell-Dean Heramia and Chase Mullen; sixth-graders Cole Selander and Mariah Garcia; seventh-graders John Minton and Alek Pedron; and eighth-graders Kevin McCafferty and Zack Nelson. Special recognition certificates were awarded to kindergartners Lucas Cardoso, Delihla Garcia and Jordan Patterson for staying on track to get work completed; first-graders Gina Brooks, Michaela Friedrich, Andrea Frunz, Daniel Maring, James Maring and Jessica Martin for always having a good attitude at school; second-graders Kayla Carman for writing a wonderful essay about spring and Justin Selander for enthusiasm about everything; third-graders Carlos Martel for making a wonderful adjustment to a new school, Myah Avila, Leona McCafferty and Ronnie Smith for working very hard to improve in reading comprehension and Russell Magee, Ricky Cuevas and Audrey Poole for improvement in presentation of work; fourth-graders Cameron Davis, Jacob Days and Katie Keller for personal growth and Alec Espos for improved religion test scores; fifth-graders Kyra Martel for a great adjustment to a new school and James Stokman for helping a classmate adjust to a new school; sixth-graders Joseph Candelario, Jacob Gomez, Masi Mott and Gabe Mustafa for doing well in the astronomy game “Space Invaders” and Jacob Anderson, Francisco Maldonado, Gabe Mustafa, Clarissa Sandoval, Mariele Schut and Sierra Ulibarri for a super timeline from 4 million B.C., to 10,000 B.C.; seventh-graders Zachary Days and Tanner Torres for effort and improvement in math; and eighth-graders Traci Alves for being a good sport and Stephanie Jenkins for showing up and working every day during the Washington D.C. trip. Christian citizenship certificates were awarded to kindergartners Russell Ambrosiewicz, Sierra Gutierrez and Lois Lopez; first-graders Joshua Guevarra, Kristi Johnson and Justin Traina; second-graders Michael McCord and Ryan Washburn; third-graders Michael Days, Kimmie Hill and Cristal Maldonado; fourth-graders Sandra Carranza and Nikolaus Priester; fifth-graders Myron Ng and Kendall Teixeira; sixth-graders Jacob Gomez and Molly McGarry; seventh-graders Ethan Albrigo and Lhea Santos; and eighth-graders Joshua Campo and Martin Villafuerte.
