| P.R.I.D.E. presents thousands in awards to local students |

Patterson Recognizing Individuals Determined to Excel, a local scholarship organization, gave out more than $61,000 in awards and scholarships to students Tuesday at the Patterson High School auditorium.  Patterson High students receive a standing ovation at Tuesday's P.R.I.D.E. scholarship ceremony. P.R.I.D.E. has distributed more than $270,000 in scholarships to more than 200 graduates of the Patterson Unified School District in the past six years. Those awards include scholarships for graduating seniors and $100 annuities for eighth- through 11th-grade students who are at the top of their class. Dave Santos, president of P.R.I.D.E., praised students for their academic success and the local community that raises the money. Most recently, the May 3 P.R.I.D.E. dinner and auction raised $31,000 for scholarships. “It’s a wonderful group of people who have worked very hard to make this happen,” Santos told those gathered for the presentation.
