 Stacy Vella and Joey Barnes, both of Modesto, were married at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 28, 2007, at Wolf Lakes Park in Sanger. Brett White of Church of Christ in Patterson performed the ceremony. Stacy, daughter of Sandy Vella of Turlock and Rob and Michelle Vella of Tulare, is a 2002 graduate of Beyer High School in Modesto. She attends Modesto Junior College. She is working toward a four-year nursing degree, which she will complete at California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock. Joey is the son of Kathy Barnes of Patterson. He is a 2002 graduate of Del Puerto High School in Patterson and works at Roma Foods Co. in Modesto. Joey looks forward to attending Modesto Junior College to earn a degree in mechanical engineering. J.C. Atkinson of Patterson was best man, and Kandice Hope of Ripon was maid of honor. Special guests were Joey’s oldest brother, Nathan Straughn from North Carolina; Joey’s grandmother, Virginia Pociengel, and his uncle, Bill Pociengel, both of Wisconsin; and Joey’s aunt, Tanya McBride of New Jersey.
