A Stanislaus soap opera EDITOR, You can always count on Stanislaus County politics as a source of great entertainment. The latest episode in our ongoing soap opera features Jim DeMartini, a middle-aged county supervisor, and the 20-something beauty he apparently wined and dined, gave money to and helped with a car purchase. To make things more entertaining, our favorite TV attorney, Mark Geragos, has entered the picture. This should be quite a circus when the young girl’s trial begins. I suppose no harm was done to the taxpayers, so long as Mr. DeMartini’s generosity came from his own pocketbook. Still, the whole thing demonstrates really bad judgment on his part!
