Senior center crafters meet weekly and What's for Lunch Print E-mail

The Senior Crafters will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. four days this month at the Patterson Senior Center, 700 F St.
May craft sessions will provide a variety of projects for crafters to work on:

Today: Crafters are invited to make Mother’s Day cards and graduation cards with “Stampin’ Up” representative Terri Cryer. The class is free, and supplies will be furnished.  

May 14: Vi Parker will teach a watercolor class for all to enjoy.  Basic supplies will be available for new artists. 

May 23: Betty Carlson will teach a beading class. Supplies will be available for all to use.

May 30: Crafters can complete projects such as knitting and latch-hook wall hangings under Carlson’s direction. Crafters should take their unfinished projects to work on.

TODAY: Fajitas with chicken, peppers and onions, flour tortilla, yellow corn, apricots

THURSDAY: Turkey sandwich, wheat bread, vegetable soup, green salad, pineapple orange juice

FRIDAY: Spaghetti and meatballs, steamed broccoli, carrot-raisin salad, pears, wheat roll 

MONDAY, May 12: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli- cauliflower blend, peaches, wheat roll

TUESDAY: Grilled chicken breast pomodoro with bow-tie pasta, mixed vegetables, stuffed bread stick, pudding, apple juice

WEDNESDAY: Barbecue pulled pork, flour tortilla, fresh spinach salad, succotash, mixed fruit

THURSDAY: Rigatoni with meat sauce, green salad, green beans, mandarin oranges, wheat roll

FRIDAY: Fish fillet sandwich, carrots, apple cabbage slaw, fresh fruit

MONDAY, May 19: Beef taco on a flour tortilla with cheese, shredded lettuce and tomatoes, yellow corn, ambrosia fruit salad

TUESDAY: Chicken vegetable teriyaki, steamed rice, apricots, fresh orange

WEDNESDAY: Beef stroganoff, dilled carrots, spinach salad, whole-wheat bread, pears

THURSDAY: Ham-and-cheese croissant, green salad with diced tomato, pea salad, pineapple mandarin mix 

FRIDAY: Baked chicken with lemon sauce, mixed vegetables, rice pilaf, wheat roll, fresh fruit, orange juice

MONDAY, May 26: Memorial Day — closed

TUESDAY: Open-face hot turkey sandwich on whole-wheat bread, seasoned sweet potatoes, green salad, oranges

WEDNESDAY: Beef lasagna with parmesan cheese, zucchini, corn and peppers, green salad, peaches, French bread

THURSDAY: Oven-baked fried chicken, rice pilaf, green beans, creamy coleslaw, wheat roll, mixed fruit

FRIDAY: Tuna salad croissant sandwich, spinach salad, pasta salad, fresh strawberries or mandarin oranges, juice

  • The Howard Training Center Senior Meal Program provides lunches at the Patterson Senior Center, 700 F St. Lunch is served at noon Monday through Friday. The suggested donation is $2 for those 60 and older. Anyone younger than age 60 must pay $4.50.Reservations should be made a day in advance by calling 892-5957 before noon. All meals are served with 8 ounces of low-fat milk.
