Fast track to graduation day  Senior project: Patterson High School senior Brian Sousa gives a 10- to 15-minute presentation to a panel of judges, made up of Patterson Unified School District instructors and community members, as a high school graduation requirement. Sousa and hundreds of other seniors have spent many after-school hours over the past semester learning a topic of their choice from a community mentor for their required senior Patterson Required Exit Program projects. With his emphasis on how to prepare a car for race day, Sousa was able to point out different parts of the open-wheel race car above — on loan from Patterson’s Bulldog Motorsport — and explain what he learned by attending a race with mentor Jason Hohmann.
