Sacred Heart hosts dance Sacred Heart Catholic School will host a dance for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Bonaventure Hall, 505 M St. Admission for the dance is $5 per person. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase for a small fee. For information: 892-3544. Technology festival geared to educators Educators will gather from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 17 through 20 for the Summer Education Technology Festival at 1100 H St. in Modesto. The event is geared for teachers and administrators, with the goal of sharing examples of effective integration of technology in education. Conference sessions will demonstrate how technology can be used in English language arts, history and social science, math, science, English language development and special-education classrooms. The California Technology Assistance Project Delta Sierra Region 6 and the Stanislaus County Office of Education will host the event. Registration fees for the conference, which include lunch and conference materials, are $325 per participant or $300 per Computer-Using Educator member. Deadline to register is Thursday. County fair event tickets on sale Tickets will go on sale for Stanislaus County Fair motorsports and the new Humpz & Hornz Bull Riding event at 10 a.m. May 3 at the fair office, 900 N. Broadway, in Turlock. Event tickets are in addition to regular fair admission. Because of the demand for Destruction Derby I: Traditional Turmoil, tickets will be limited to 10 per person or per credit card. Discount fair admission and discount unlimited carnival ride wristbands are already on sale on the Fair’s Web site, www.stancofair.com. Film company hosts auditions Realta Oscuro Films will have open auditions for several upcoming projects from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 10 at Hero’s Sports Lounge, 821 L St, in Modesto. The production team is calling for actors and actresses of all ages who have a serious desire to make their mark and be part of an up-and-coming film company. No experience is necessary.
