Fiesta sets meeting dates The Patterson Apricot Fiesta board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Best Western Villa Del Lago Inn, 2959 Speno Drive, for its monthly meeting. The May meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. May 14 at the Patterson Library, 46 N. Salado Ave. Anyone interested in the May 30 through June 1 Fiesta is welcome to attend. For information: 892-3118. Reading adventure for kids The Grayson-Westley Family Resource Center will present its annual Dia del Niño (Day of the Child) from 10 a.m. to noon Friday. The theme, “La Lectura Es Una Aventura” (Reading Is An Adventure), will focus on activities for children from infants to age 5. Children will be given a “passport” to each station, where children and parents can participate in an activity associated with a book. As children visit and complete each station, they will receive a stamp in their passport. A completed passport can be exchanged for a book of the child’s choice. The literacy fair will be at 301 Howard Road, in Westley, and includes a number of local organizations and agencies. For information: Sylvia Ochoa, 894-3188. Mother’s Day mansion tea Reservations are open for the Mother’s Day Tea on May 10 at the McHenry Mansion, 906 15th St., in Modesto. Doors will open at 11 a.m. with seatings at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.; seating preference must be declared at time of booking. Because reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, organizers may find it necessary to seat guests whenever space is available. Tickets are $20 per adult and $15 per child. Reservations must be made before May 5.
