![]() Essapour Prosecutors suspect Essapour stole DeMartini’s identity and racked up close to $10,000 in debt after receiving two credit cards. Essapour will be in court again June 6 when a trial date is expected to be set. Essapour acquired DeMartini’s information after he co-signed a car loan for her and provided a $6,500 down payment in 2005. DeMartini formed a friendship with her after she helped with a political campaign with which DeMartini had been associated.
On April 1, the married DeMartini testified that he did not have a sexual relationship with Essapour. Essapour also said there was not a sexual relationship. ![]() DeMartini “These charges are not that complicated,” Zeff said. “It shouldn’t even take two weeks.” Essapour’s attorney Tina Glandian told the court that the defense team plans to file a motion for the case to be dismissed. That motion will likely be addressed at the June 6 hearing.
