Aftermath: Firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers take notes and fill out reports after an accident at Highway 132 and River Road near Vernalis on Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened at 1:35 p.m. after the 2005 Hyundai, shown above, that was headed northbound on River Road pulled in front of a 1997 Accura Integra that was headed eastbound on Highway 132.
