Disoriented man locked up
Police booked a 32-year-old Modesto man into Stanislaus County Jail in Modesto at 11:53 a.m. on suspicion of being drunk in public.
Police found him after receiving reports of a man lying on the sidewalk at El Circulo and Salado Avenue. When a deputy approached the man, he sat up quickly and said, “I’m not in Modesto.” He seemed uncertain of his location, the deputy noted, and had an open beer can next to him.
Friday
4:04 p.m.: Police responded to reports that two men stole three bottles of vodka from Save Mart Supermarkets, 1035 Sperry Ave.
Thursday
4:28 p.m.: Police booked a 37-year-old homeless man into county jail on suspicion of drinking alcohol in a public park. Police also cited a 43-year-old Patterson man and a 22-year-old Patterson man on the same charges. The 37-year-old was taken to jail because he did not give the deputy an identification card. The deputy saw the men drinking in North Park on Plaza Circle.
11:23 p.m.: Police cited a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of hitting her husband after neighbors reported a fight. The man had no visible wounds. The woman agreed to leave the house for the night.
8:07 a.m.: Police booked a man into county jail on a warrant after stopping him near the railroad tracks close to E Street. The man had a warrant out of Patterson Police Services for possessing drug paraphernalia.
