With a town of over 19000 residents and using KCRA's figures, the mayoral race had 3725 votes for both candidates and the school bond issue had 4783. Where did the other 1057 votes go????

Voters who live within the Patterson city limits vote for mayor and city council.
People in the surrouding areas do not vote in city races.

The voters who live within the Patterson Unified School District live in Vernalis, Westley and Patterson. Same for the Del Puerto Health Care District races. The boundaries for these races stretch farther.

It certainly doesn't seem fair that those of us who live in rural areas of Patterson do not get to pick our mayor. Decisions made at City Council effect us too.
