Rototilling & Patio work 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I need to have our yard rototilled (it is completely overgorwn with weeds). I also want to put in a 10'X10' very basic concrete patio. Has anyone had either of these jobs done in their yard? I am looking for referrals to good contractors and also for an idea on how much it will cost!

I just actually just finished my backyard in pouring concrete. It took me a month in half due to the fact that I only worked on the weekends.

I had the same issue with overgrown weeds, what i did is got weed killer and made sure that that weeds died out before i began rototilliing the dirt. My backyard is 20x60 so we did a lot of rototilling. I had to also level out the back because of the fact that the home behind mine is higher than mine. I also have to put up a retaining wall.

I did a large section of concrete which i paid around 1600 dollars of just concrete. Labor was free cause i knew some people out of san jose who did the work. If you are looking for 10x10 equals 100 square feet you divide that by 80 (dont ask me how you divide it by 80) it will equal 1.25 cubic yards of concrete that you would need to purchase. I got my concrete on a saturday for 100 dollars a yard. The concrete 10x10 pad should be at least 4 inches thick, which ties into the division of 80. I also added color and stamped my concrete.

You would also have to frame out the area of where you want the concrete

I also had to pump the concrete due to the fact I had a lot of concrete to put down which costed $250.00, if you are only doing a yard .25 of concrete you could use a wheel barrel.

You would probably want to add in some rebar for support of the concrete so it wont crack or break.

I got my concrete from Allied Concrete & Supplies

This is just material cost and not labor.

I added the before and after pictures.

Let me know if you have any questions or if i confused you.
