Thank you Mugenracer, I was starting to feel alone with this situation but feel somewhat relieved to hear someone else feels the way I do. No matter where the money for a skate park is coming from, the amount of money alone we pay on property and supplemental taxes in this city should very well cover more protection to its citizens. I would hope a skate park (wherever the money comes for that) is not what the city thinks is priority, when you have crime rates that have nearly tripled. I am very disappointed this is happening in Patterson and only hope the situation does not get any worse. Safety first, let the rest come as it may when and if needed!

I doubt someone looking to rob homes is going to be taking photographs during the day. There are people other than realtors who might be taking pictures. It could be an appraiser who is taking pictures of comparable properties. The County Assessor's office has even been known to take pictures for various reasons.

Thanks all for the comments. You are probably right County Dweller and i am probably getting worried for no reason. However I would still like to get an alarm system my house is pre wired. Does anyone have any suggestions for a panel to be installed? It's either that or a handgun, but if comes down to shooting someone i dont really want to clean up the mess.

I went with adt. They have an "internet special" that includes 1k work of equipment for 299 with a 200 rebate. Its a nice system with a keychain remote and a two way voice panel so if there is a problem they can talk to you right thru the panel, or they can hear if someone is actually breaking in and then they will notify the cops. Oh yeah there is a one time 25 fee for connecting to the phone line. The monotoring fee varies but mine is 40 a month and they can bill you quarterly if you like. You can also get a certificate from the installer and send it to your insurance company for a discount on your homeowners insurance.

Thanks mugenracer, I was thinking of going with them not only because they are a household name but my company uses them for all 800 of our stores. Maybe I can get a discount.

Hello to all~

I also have seen this ubiquitious white car (honda) around as well - by the High School. If this individual is taking pictures, yes...it might be innocent, but be warned... this city is not what it used to be in the 60's and 70's or even 80's. This City has seen just as many opportunistic scavengers looking for something to steal as any other city. The only way to prevent chicanery and suspicious behavior is to be vigilant and call law enforcement if the behavior goes beyond "just taking pictures."
